In remembering Mr. Sendak, and seeing as it is Poetry Friday, I'd like to share my favorite month from Chicken Soup With Rice: A book of Months [JP SEN GREEN DOT]--December. The lovely "B" sounds make this verse a winner.
DecemberThe whole book is delightful, from its small format (approximately 5 x 7"), to its rhythm, to its exuberant illustrations. A merry, merry gift for all!

I will be
a baubled bangled
Christmas tree
with soup bowls draped all over me.
Merry once
Merry twice
merry chicken soup
with rice.
