Sad news came through yesterday on the passing of illustrator, Maurice Sendak. He will be sorely missed. His most famous book is, without a doubt, Where the Wild Things Are [JP SEN], and thousands, if not millions of kids, can recite parts of the book from memory.
Terry Gross, on NPR's Fresh Air, did many interviews with Sendak over the years. The last one, in 2011, is worth listening to again.
Look for Making Mischief: A Maurice Sendak Appreciation by Gregory Maguire [741.642 MAG] to learn more about the man behind the Wild Things.
