I hope you've stopped by the library in the past month to see the display case full of aprons and accompanied by apron and kitchen collectibles books from our collection. (I bet you didn't know we had books on aprons!)
Aprons are reminiscent of a time when women did a lot of cooking and baking from scratch and keeping clothes clean meant less time spent doing laundry. They're also reminders of strong and loving women from our youth who are no longer with us. Here's a poem by Marilyn Chin called "The Floral Apron":
